Earlier this spring we launched a brand new, all under one roof, website for Operation Revamp and the Veterans Art Center. Here are a few of the details and a few things to note as we work out the kinks and get everyone transferred. With the new site we will not only gain better communication with our members but will also be able to more effectively share announcements and invitations with the public.
It will also reduce a cluttered mailboxes from emails going to everyone for interests not everyone shares while making sure you get the information you do want.

Features:

  • Member directory (and the ability for members to message each other)
  • Interactive photo albums - upload photos to group member albums
  • Forums - for group discussion with other members
  • News and blog updates (including sections where you can post)
  • Events calendar - special events as well as veteran only and members only
  • Online store - with member discounts
  • Online registration or RSVP for classes or events
  • Profile management - keep your own info up to date
  • Profile integration so all activities, subscriptions, events, donations, online purchases, group membership are tracked in your personal profile
  • Group settings - join groups you want to participate in and make sure you get notices exclusive to that group

  • Online membership application and renewal (offline payment option)
  • Contact list for non-members who only want the newsletters

Members Only Benefits:
  • A members only section (log in required)

  • Online profile management, registration, renewal, opt in (or out), record of activities

Membership Levels:
  • Contact List - subscribers only
  • General Membership $10 per year (12 months from date paid)
  • Couples (general membership for those who share an email address) $10 per person.
  • Patron - for those who want to support our programs without getting all the member announcements, news and information. $25 per year

The glitches: And with every transition these are bound to happen.
  • Some members did not get transferred
  • Not all contacts and subscribers made the transfer
  • Membership expiry dates are not all correct
  • Member profiles are incomplete
  • Email announcements and notices are going to everyone in the database
To fix most of these glitches I NEED YOUR HELP.
  • If you are a paid member please go to the site at www.operationrevamp.org and log in to your profile in the upper right hand corner of the page using your email address. If you do not have a password click on 'Forgot Password' and reset the password.
  • If you are a paid member and request a password and get an ERROR message that your email can't be found please contact me at wendy@operationrevamp.org so I can fix this.
  • If you are a non-member newsletter subscriber and have not been getting numerous blasts over the past 2 weeks (our apologies if you have) go the the main site and click subscribe or go to our subscription link.
  • If you are a paid member you will either have an expiry date of June 30th (grandfathered) or more recent members will have an expiry of one year from the date dues were paid. Log in to your profile and check your expiry date. If it is incorrect please contact me at wendy@operationrevamp.org so I can fix it.
  • I do not have volunteers available to transfer all information from your member application and not all information was transferred on the upload. I am asking all members to PLEASE log in and update your profile information. Additionally you will be able to select groups to participate in and this will help make sure you receive information you want but not all the info you don't want. You can even add a profile photo.
  • As noted above, selecting groups on your member profile will ensure you get the emails with information you want and not everything you are not interested in. Currently everyone, including our newsletter subscribers, are being bombarded with all email blasts because there are no members in the groups and we are stuck with an all or non email option. Please update your profile and indicate your group preferences. We want to get this functioning correctly as soon as we can and we can do that with your help.

Did you know:
  • You can join or renew online without a credit or debit card. Simply request an invoice and come in and pay us with cash or check.
  • We have a total of 764 subscribers and 163 members who made it into the new online database.
  • We have an online photo album open to the public. If you have photos of events, art, or anything you want to share with members and visitors please feel free to upload to the album. Once uploaded be sure to add some information so we know what it is.
  • Blogs and forums abound on the site - both public and member only. Many special announcements and information will be posted there so be sure and visit us often. Some of the blogs are open and you are welcome to add a blog post.
  • You must be a paid member in good standing to enter the 'Members Only' portion of the site and access the Member Directory.
  • When viewing your profile you will see everything you can see or the site administrators can see. If you click on 'my directory profile' you will be able to see what other members are able to see.
  • Under 'privacy' you will be able to change the settings and allow other members to see additional items of your choosing.
  • The Email Subscriptions' tab will allow you to select what emails you want to receive from us or you can select 'none at all'
  • 'Member Photo Albums' provides an opportunity to create your own personal photo album on your profile and then share with other members or keep it private. (This is separate from the group photo album)
  • Tabs on your member profile allow you to check past and future event registrations and also invoice and payment information for membership, donations, online shopping or events.
  • A workshop and one-on-one tutoring is available each Tuesday at the Veterans Art Center to help you learn all the features of the site (but feel free to click on links and wander around on your own trail of discovery)

It is our sincere hope and with a lot of excitement as we launch this new site that it will result in a huge improvement in communication and an ability to improve attendance and interest in our free programs and events. It is also hope we will be able to connect better with our volunteers and team members who are anxious to help but never know what we need.
