This Week at SNS

Thank you to everyone who attended Tuesday evening's "State of SNS" general school meeting.  We hope you left with a better understanding of the various school groups and how to get involved here at SNS.
This upcoming week at SNS will be a busy one.  There will be a school holiday on Monday, October 9th in observance of Columbus Day.  The following day, Tuesday, October 10th, the students will be required to wear their winter uniforms.  Please refer to the school handbook about specific uniform information.

The school will celebrate our annual " Pink Out Day" on Friday, October 13th with a pink dress down day for all students and faculty.  A goodwill donation to benefit the Unite for HER organization is requested.  The school will also celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the last apparition of Fatima with Our Lady of Fatima prayer service, led by our 8th grade students, on Friday, October 13th.  Parents are very welcome to join the students and faculty at the grotto at 2:00 PM that day.

State of SNS Meeting
Many thanks to the parents who attended Tuesday's State of SNS general school meeting.   If you weren't able to be there, the minutes of the meeting are available HERE.

Come Play With Us
For families with younger siblings, we will be kicking off this year's St. Norbert Playgroup on Friday, October 20th.  It is held every month in the school gym from 9:30-11:00 AM for children, ages 0-5, and their parents and caretakers.  Feel free to come and stay for as long as you like.  If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Roberts at
jennroberts06@gmail.com .  We look forward to seeing you there!

Please note....
There are still a few spots left in the
private piano lesson program here at school. This is our third year of lessons and the program has grown tremendously! Remember, playing the piano is a skill that lasts a lifetime. It has been proven that children who begin playing a musical instrument excel in math and reading due to the learned ability to change tasks so quickly.

Lessons are available for children ages five and up. Please contact Nancy Smolinski at  484-467-5000 if you are interested.

Did You Know...?

Principal for the Day
On Friday, September 29th,  John S., a 4th grader, was Principal for the Day. His parents Golden Tee was picked at the Golf Outing in which they picked Principal for the Day.  He assisted Mrs. Hennessy with leading morning prayers,  office duties, reading to students in PreK, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades, and delivering things to the Parish Office. He was treated to lunch with four of his classmates at Bravo Pizza. In the afternoon Principal Savage had a Dodge Ball tournament for Grades 3-8 and gave an extra recess to Grades PreK-2nd Grades.  At the end of the day he declared a Dress Down Day for the students for the following Monday.

Grade 4
Our 4th grade has begun their year of service! Anytime there is a job to be done, it's 4th grade to the rescue! Our first job was to bring all the peanut butter and jelly jars down to the dining hall for counting. Then came the big project, counting them all! Each table of children had a job to count a select grouping of jars. All together we counted 87 jelly and 90 peanut butter!
Thanks to all the families who contributed to this worthy cause.
